New Writing Philosophy
My new writing philosophy is: If it's boring, then writing something different. But keep writing.

I have this quote from Helene Cixous on my monitor:
"And why don't you write? WRITE! Writing is for you, you are for you.... I know why you haven't written... Because writing is at once too high, too great for you, it's reserved for the great--that is for 'great men'; and it's 'silly'... Write, let no one hold you back, let nothing stop you...."
It's a source of strength and power for me, to hear this encouraging and knowing and compassionate voice in my head, something to replace the "what ifs."
